Today our SRC shared with the school our new fundraising initiative. Fr Vincent has made us aware of a parish in India called Sarukanei where the priests care for lots of children because most of the parents need to go off and try to find work in the towns. This is because the agriculture can’t sustain the population, due to the continuing drought problems of the past two decades.

The cost of feeding all 200 children in the Children’s Home is only about $200 month, which works out at only $12 per child each year. That’s not much money! So how much can we raise to support them? If we can raise $2400, we can support them with food for the year. Imagine what even more money could do!
I think that the whole school can raise about $5000 all together if we try.

I think our whole school can raise enough money so that we can support them with food for the year. Our school is very generous so far and people are even emptying their whole piggy banks into their class accounts for the orphanage. So let’s get going and raise this money!!!

I also think everyone is being very generous, Natasha. I’m sure that others are also wondering how much money we can raise for these children.
