Seasons Come And Seasons Go, Time To Act And Let Everyone Know
Our project represents the four seasons (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring) when God first made them and what they will become. We need the seasons and by polluting the air and the world around us we are destroying the earth and everything it contains. The weather between the seasons is getting worse. For example summer is getting hotter, winter colder. The sky is getting darker and it’s all because of us. We need to act to keep our seasons and world alive. By doing this we can live longer, healthier lives.

Tree Man
Our sculpture represents God’s creation dying. That’s why we made it out of dry sticks and we sculptured it into a person who is representing mankind. We also made him looking like he is falling over because he is dying. That’s why we made it out of dead sticks. Our sculpture represents trees getting logged and its bad for the environment and we are wrecking God’s creation.

My sculpture is supposed to symbolise the creativity of Native people of the world. I have placed the items that natives used on a mobile to resemble the branches of trees that native people used to their advantage. This sculpture is supposed to scream out saying: Why do we need several varieties of house hold items? Why can’t we go back to the old ways of our true natives? How did we get so greedy? Why did we evolve like we are now ? Why didn’t we stay the same when we first evolved because they had perfect balance between nature and themselves?
The connections to Stewards of God’s creation is that we are destroying the world as shown in my sculpture and God created the world for mankind to live and take care of. We can restore the balance by reducing our energy needs and logging. We need to restore what God has giving us.
For R.E Joel.A and l made a totally awesome tree. It is to say that the world will never be the same but we can try to save the world and us. Our sculpture connects to stewards of God’s creation because most people still believe we can just replant what we have destroyed. Without trees all the CO2 will destroy the O-Zone layer resulting in too much sun and heat which will melt all the ice causing global flooding and the the ultimate extinction of all species.
I wonder if we really need every bit of electricity we use every day? Do we really need all those lamp posts? Or a dryer? Why can’t we use more common sense! We could do so much more to be a steward of God! We might think we are being the best steward we can be… but are we? Do we need to play computer games 24/7? A: No! We could give so much more. My family are trying to be as energy efficient as we can and giving part of our Christmas and Easter money we use to buy things for the poor. Are we really a steward of God or is it in our heads? I don’t know about you but we could really try harder and maybe push out of our comfort zone Global warming is slowly coming and we need to really try! We don’t always need something it’s usually a want, so next time don’t ask mum to buy you some new DC’s if you have perfectly fine shoes.

My sculpture is supposed to resemble how the world has changed throughout humanity’s history. The connection between my sculpture and Stewards of God’s creation is that the Aboriginals used to live simple lives and they looked after the Earth. They did not harm the Earth in any too damaging way. Now white man has logged down large tracts of rainforests, polluted the air with pollution such as plastic bottles and bags causing Global Warming. Mankind is causing Global Warming, temperatures are rising. Consequently glaciers and ice shelves in Antarctic will melt while man continues to log trees, burn fossil fuels and pollute the air with carbon dioxide.
In R.E I am by myself making a sculpture for our project. It is called “Is the sky the same shade of Blue as it was when God created it?” and it is made up of lots of different materials. The question makes you think… maybe we could do a little bit more to help but we can’t change the colour back to original now. We can only help stop it and maybe if we made earth hour once a month or an earth day?
What Was God thinking when he created man?
Explanation
I was inspired by the creation story. This story sounded like the scriptures thought that man was all innocent and it was God’s brilliant idea to create man. But did God really know what was best? Obviously, God knew, but what had he intended for us? He couldn’t have been in his right mind when he made Adam, or, he had a very good reason to create him, because what has that lead to? Maybe, the end of the Earth, from dumping and creating more, dumping and creating more, dumping and creating more! So, was God really thinking when he made man to protect the environment, ’cause we sure aren’t doing that! He must have known, otherwise he wouldn’t have made us with free will, must have been planning for us to do something for the glory of Him, but we aren’t going to succeed at this rate!
In R.E today we did art and had to make a 3D picture on how God created the Earth in 7 days. Shanny, Shelly and I had to do day 5 and that was how God made the Sea Creatures and the Birds. I had fun in R.E to today.
In R.E Elena and I are making a sculpture. Our sculpture is of Uluru or Ayers Rock and on top is a bird. The title of our sculpture is ‘All Creatures and Nature, Great and Small’.
Yes we are going really well. At first I thought we were going to go really badly and get a D, but we have improved and I am proud of what we have made together.

In RE, Jaime and I are making a sculpture and it’s called the Pollution Ferrari. It represents all the cars in the world that cause pollution. Cars give off exhaust fumes and people even throw rubbish onto the streets from their cars. This damages our environment and the world which God created. Our sculpture will be a symbol for everyone to identify that cars add to our pollution. We have used black, white and orange and mixed them together to give a greyish pollution colour to paint the car. We have had so much fun and all there is left to do is place everything together and write the description. Thanks for letting us enjoy this wonderful creating project!!!!
I enjoyed our religion when we had to watch the creation story because it was unusual how the aboriginal story and the first story in Genesis is very similar.
Natasha, its great to hear that you have noticed similarities between the 2 accounts about Creation. This will help you when you are completing the assessment task. You should make some comments about the similarities you noticed to help others to get the idea.
In RE we started learning about the Aboriginal Dreamtime and for homework we have to find different stories that they told. I think RE is going to be interesting.:)
I’m enjoying Religion because we worked in groups, watched a video clip about the Aboriginal Dreamtime Creation story and then drew a story map about the story.
Jack I would like to add something. It is not called the Dreamtime. It is called the dreamy story because it is not over. They are still adding things on to it .
Great to see you’ve been listening in class Kezia, and showing an understanding for what you have written. The terminology is a little wrong though, it is called The Dreaming. Great responses in class today.
I enjoyed our R.E. lesson the other day because we had to watch a Creation Story on the computer. We went in groups and we had to write down the things that were similar in the movie to the first story in the bible. After that we had to do a story board explaining the movie, but in pictures. This was a good lesson because we got to see the differences between the Aboriginal creation story and the creation story we are more clear about. But watching the movie gave me a better idea of the Aboriginal creation story!
The Al Gore movie is really moving, it’s almost scary. Boooo!!!
It relates to our RE unit because God created our earth as Stewards of God we were meant to enjoy and look after the earth what have we done? We are ruining our world, people! Look around and think is the sky the same colour blue as it was when God created it? It’s happening and it’ll flood. Global warming is now! So let’s take our part in it.

Wow Rebecca! What great ideas you’re sharing with us. I wonder if everyone in Stage 3 is now feeling as strongly as you since watching the movie. Do you think we all feel we should take some responsibility, or do you think some might say it’s somebody else’s problem?
Mrs Stenning
What a thought provoking response to Rebecca’s blog! I love “I wonder” questions. You are trying to challenge students to think deeply. This is definitely the QT element “Higher Order Thinking”.
Yeah, I agree Bec.It’s kind of scary, and I really don’t know if I want to know any more. The saying is true, Ignorance is bliss! I guess it really scares me because it means if I have kids they might not have the chance I did of growing up with all the flora and fauna we have now. It’s scary when you put it like that, hey?
Luke, I love the idea that your first idea may not always be the best idea. Artists will often mull over (contemplate, ponder) their ideas for a long time before they commit themselves to their project.
Since I haven’t been able to get onto the blog for a while I can say this now. S3V have been planning sculptures that symbolise the role of Stewards of God’s creation and how we can become those Stewards.

Stewards of Creation means when God made the earth he had made us the steward of the his creation.
Stewards Of Creation is our religion unit and globalisation is our H.S.I.E unit
Well the answer is God created us people. He created us to be responsible for our environment which is 1 answer to your question!!!
Tyler. What do you mean by fate? Do you think the titles of the units might help you give a more thoughtful answer? Have a think. Maybe next week you’ll know a bit more about your answer.
Tyler, I think I may have an idea about what you are talking about. I would like to add to Tyler’s explanation. I think she might be saying FATE because it will be our loss or FATE if the world ends because of our selfish decisions or reckless decisions as Adam and Eve made the choice of everyone making their own decisions.
Oh and Mrs Stenning, would that be backround knowledge?
Mackenzie, I think you might be right about that being Background Knowledge, since its from a previous lesson about the decision or choice made by Adam and Eve.
